The world’s most valuable data is still hard to reach.

Some of the most valuable data in the world lives inside private systems, legacy software, offline archives and real-world operations. Watt exists to make that data usable by AI.

The problem

The data AI needs next wasn’t built for AI.

01Offline archivesPaper records and scanned files
02Legacy systemsDecades-old software with no API
03Operational softwareWork orders, ledgers, field tickets
04Private databasesHeld inside the companies that made them
05Field workflowsDecisions made on site, rarely written down
What Watt does

Watt finds that data, makes it usable, and gets it to the people building with it.

  1. 01

    Acquire.

Gain access to scarce, private and difficult-to-reach data.

  2. 02

    Refine.

Turn raw, fragmented information into structured, usable, well-documented data.

  3. 03

    Deliver.

Provide it in the form the buyer needs.

How we got here

We started by solving this problem at enormous scale.

For years Watt ingested, resolved, maintained and recomputed fragmented behavioral data on the US population. Keeping that much messy data accurate and current every day forced us to build the infrastructure this work depends on.

Raw dataWattUsable data

What that work built

  • The Signal Graph
  • Ingestion infrastructure
  • Identity and normalization systems
  • Provenance and metadata systems
  • Pipelines that turn messy raw data into something usable

Where we point it now

  • Private operational datasets
  • Industrial workflows
  • Offline records
  • Legacy systems
  • Proprietary business data

We built the refinery first. Now we are feeding it scarcer data.

Where we go deepest

We go where the data is hardest to get.

Watt already covers the economy broadly. We go deepest where private, operational and offline data is hardest to reach, and where having it matters most.

How we think about data

What we hold to.

  1. 01

    Scarcity matters

The most valuable data is often the hardest to access.

  2. 02

    Provenance matters

You should know where data came from, how it was transformed and what rights travel with it.

  3. 03

    Speed matters

Data creates no value until someone can actually use it.

  4. 04

    Delivery should be flexible

The same refined data should be able to serve many endpoints and workflows.

  5. 05

    Trust matters

Private data requires strong governance, security and clear rights.
